In-person meetings

AI meeting notes for in-person meetings

Most AI notetakers work by joining a video call. An in-person meeting has no call to join — just a table and the people around it — so they cannot take notes on it at all.

Gorowame records the room you are in — on your phone, set on the table, or the laptop in front of you — and turns the meeting into a transcript, a summary, the decisions made and the action items agreed. Nothing for anybody else in the room to install.

How to record a meeting in a room

The recording decides the notes. Six things that make the difference, with any tool.

Put the phone in the middle of the table

Equally close to everyone who will speak, face up, on something solid. A phone at one end hears that end of the table and the rest as a murmur.

Keep the screen on

Most phones stop a browser recording when the screen locks. Turn auto-lock off for the meeting, or plug the phone in so it stays awake.

Keep it away from the noise

Not next to a projector fan, an air-conditioning vent or the coffee machine. A steady background hum costs more words than distance does.

Say the obvious things out loud at the start

What the meeting is, the date, and who is there. Thirty seconds that make the summary and the minutes better, and settle later who was in the room.

Tell the room you are recording

Nothing announces itself, so that part is yours — and recording laws differ by country. It also tends to make people speak one at a time.

Big room? Use a laptop in the middle instead

For a long boardroom table, a laptop placed centrally often hears better than a phone, and the Windows app keeps recording without a connection.

What you get back

Already recorded it? Upload a voice memo or any audio file up to 20 MB — roughly twenty minutes at the quality most phones record.

The meetings it is made for

Client meetings across a table

Consultants, advisers, agencies. The recap afterwards takes longer than the meeting, and the client never sees a bot in the room.

Site and project meetings

Progress and coordination meetings in a site office, where the minutes are the record.

Construction meeting minutes

Interviews and one-to-ones

Where a visible third participant changes how somebody answers — and where nobody wants the interviewer typing.

Board and committee meetings

Formal, minuted, usually in a room. A draft from the recording, then the secretary edits.

What it does not do yet

It does not record with the phone in your pocket. A locked screen stops a browser recording, so a walk-round with the phone put away is not something it captures reliably.

The browser needs a connection. The Windows app records with no signal and uploads later. An Android app that does the same is in testing.

It cannot attend a meeting you are not in. It records from your device, so somebody has to be there — which is also why nothing joins anyone’s call. Why there is no bot.
